“Drink is a Drug” is a campaign to highlight the harmful health and developmental consequences of alcohol consumption among teenagers and to help and encourage parents and other influencers to delay the age at which young people partake of this drug.

While there is much concern around teenagers’ personal security, mental health and exposure to pornography and bullying, we often turn a blind eye to the threat posed by the drug that is alcohol.

It is important that conversations around alcohol take place at an early age, before children have commenced experimentation.

The campaign is funded by the TOMAR Trust, a philanthropic trust that aims to contribute to strengthening Irish society. Established in 1994, the Trust has provided funding in the areas of education, community development, health, sports, aging and homelessness.
